Features of the Residential College

1. Accommodation is linked with courses and activities to cultivate independent learning and interdisciplinary thinking, constructing a comprehensive learning living circle.

2. Tutors provide guidance and assistance, promoting close interaction between teachers and students.

3. Multi-cultural exchange, to forge an internationalized campus within Tamkang.

Students are required to take up residence within the dorms during their freshman and sophomore years, linking accommodation with courses and activities, breaking away from the limitations of traditional classrooms and creating a flipped learning space on the Tamkang International Campus.

Residential tutors provide their assistance in the designing of lecture courses, as well as the invitation of lecturers, with the aim of guiding students through course selection, encouraging independent learning through diverse approaches (such as participating in lecture courses and observing visitation experiences) that focus on diverse elements and international knowledge.

Residential activities are planned in accordance with four major themes: "Cultural diversity, Global competitiveness, Healthy and happy living, and World citizenship", extending general education courses to practical settings beyond the classroom. By combining action, learning, and spiritual thinking, through diverse and lively formats, as well as collaborating with on-campus clubs or off-campus experts, we infuse interdisciplinary knowledge and learning into the life of students, strengthening character cultivation practices, and help students develop the eight basic virtues within themselves.

Aside from inter-departmental communication between students, we stive for the formation of frequent interaction between teachers and students. In addition to cross-departmental communication between students, teachers and students will also organize a variety of activities (Lohas, Sports, Issue Discussion, and even Film Appreciation) to help students get to know each other, interact with each other, and learn independently
