Overseas Guidance Counseling

Overseas Counseling

The Center for Holistic Education launched an "International Learning" course for second-year students to implement guidance for students' English proficiency tests, foreign university applications, guidance for courses taken during their third year abroad, and follow-up guidance for their lives and studies abroad. During the students' third year abroad, each department will arrange dedicated tutors for online guidance, while also using the "Junior-year Abroad Guidance Notification System" to monitor their lives and learning overseas. In addition, departments can evaluate and track students' learning achievements overseas through the recognition process for credits taken during their third year abroad.

 I. The Center for Holistic Education’s website has a "Junior-year Abroad Guidance / Notification System." Starting from their sophomore year, students need to complete the registration for the required notification items within the time limit. During their junior year abroad, they need to regularly report their course and accommodation situation, and both tutors and parents can understand the students' situation from the school selection to their study abroad period through the system.

II. Regular reporting mechanism:

1. Before going abroad, students are required to register their contact information, such as their mailing address, email address, and phone number, in the Junior-year Abroad Guidance / Notification System when registering for their Junior-year abroad. This information is used for subsequent tracking and contacting of students.

2. In case of an emergency, junior-year tutors, department heads, and students can contact each other through mobile phones and email. The Tamsui Campus Safety Center (02) 26215656 ext. 2256 (emergency phone: 26222173) is available 24 hours a day, and the staff on duty can also assist with notifications.

lll.Providing reference materials for studying abroad:

In addition to introducing overseas schools, the content covers essential information such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, visas, bank accounts, and emergency contact information. After returning to Taiwan, students can share their experience of studying abroad to help their juniors and serve as representatives of the school for students returning from their junior year abroad.

Junior Abroad Studies

1. Completion of the Junior Abroad Year Program is a graduation requirement for all departments affiliated with the Holistic Education Group. According to regulations, junior-year students must study abroad for one year. To ensure that students complete the program on time, the "Junior Abroad Studies" is a required course for third-year students. It is worth 0 credits in both the fall and spring semesters, and the only grades given are pass/fail.

2. As overseas students are exempt from the program; this course is only applicable to students with Taiwanese nationality. It applies to Taiwanese students who have enrolled since the 110th academic year.
