Residential College Regulations & Forms

 ※ All-residential College is one of the features of Holistic Education. It is stated in the admission brochure “The Center for Holistic Education requests freshman students to live in the dormitory. If unable to do so, students must complete one year of dormitory residence before graduation.”

※ International Students who are unable to live in the dormitory (Tamkang International Hall) during their freshman year must submit an application as follows:

Ø  Applying for a “Dormitory Exemption” Due to Special Circumstances (physical or mental conditions, unexpected family circumstances etc.)

1. Students must fill out the Student Report Form【PDF file】【ODT file】, state the reasons and attach any relevant supporting documents.

2. The form must be signed and approved by the department chairperson and then to the Holistic Education Center for review. Only those who receive approval by the Director are exempt from the requirement stated above.

Ø  Applying for “Deferred On-Campus Residence” for Non-Special Circumstances

1. Complete the Application Form【PDF file】【ODT file】and promise to complete one year of on-campus residence during which academic year.

2. First submit the application to your department, then the Holistic Education Center for record-keeping.

※The above application procedures and forms shall take effect from the 2026–2027 academic year. Except for students who have been approved for a dormitory exemption, all students are still required to fulfill the applicable dormitory residence requirement.
