From 2005 to 2019, 2,277 students from the Lanyang campus successfully completed their overseas studies in their junior year. These students have gone to sister schools all over the world, deeply cultivating the internationalization concept of Tamkang University. The stable and effective program of junior-year overseas studies is one of the main features of the Lanyang campus and an important reason why many students choose to attend this school. In 2020, there were a total of 27 sister schools cooperating with the Lanyang campus for junior-year overseas studies. Regardless of the destination, students can connect with international professionals, learn about local cultures, and become global citizens. The program of junior-year overseas studies is continuously promoted throughout Tamkang University, providing students with diverse opportunities for international learning.
The standardization of the junior-year overseas studies process enables students and faculty members in all departments to clearly understand the tasks required before, during, and after the program. Each overseas study school has a responsible counselor to assist Taiwanese students in completing their junior-year overseas studies.
The junior-year overseas studies counseling and reporting system is user-friendly. Starting from their sophomore year, students can fill out online forms for language exams, school registration applications, departure dates, and other relevant information on the system. During their junior-year overseas studies, students are also required to register their overseas accommodation, selected courses, how they are doing in terms of adapting to daily and academic life overseas, graduation requirements, and return date within a specified time frame on the system. Faculty members can easily monitor students' progress, and each department can assess and track students' overseas learning outcomes through the recognition process of junior-year overseas study credits.
